From Parineeta to Kismat Konnection, her box-office record is quite consistent. But the fashion police have overlooked all the critical acclaim she has received. Vidya's desperate attempts to go glam have been undone by her unflattering sense of style. Her mature face and body language don't make her an ideal candidate for candyfloss films. And that's where she has been losing out. But after Ash, Vidya looks like the only able successor for Bhansali-Gowariker style costume dramas.
