Kunal steps out of Yash Raj camp and signs up a contract with Reliance.

Till now writer and director Kunal Kohli made four films with Yash Raj camp viz; 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge', 'Hum Tum', 'Fanaa' and 'Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic'. Out of these 'Hum Tum' and 'Fanaa' did well while the other two were flop show on box-office. His 'Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic' failed to create magic on box-office. However, after the 'Kidnap' director Sanjay Gadhvi, Kunal steps out of Yash Raj camp and signs up a contract with Reliance.


After the failure of the film, it was rumoured that Kunal is finding it tough to get a financial support for his future films. Finally, the rumours turned untrue. Recently he has signed a three-film deal with Reliance.

Its known that his first project will be a romantic drama with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The work on script is in process. The film sets will mount next year and it will be on the floors by the year-end.

His second film is rumoured to have Aamir Khan in lead and the movie is expected to release by 2010. After 'Fanaa' this will be the second film that the two of them will work together on.


The third project will see newcomers coming in and will be directed by his assistant.
