The Boss is Back @ Rajnikanth

.
The latest is that Rajinikanth will appear in 20 different characters in a song specially rendered by popular Punjabi singer Daler Mehendi. Rajnikanth's Kuselan out in July, The gap between two Rajnikanth movies is always huge. The anticipation and the long wait make the Tamil superstar's films a celebration for his fans. Hardly has the hullabaloo over his last release Sivaji died down, that the actor is ready with another release. The film in question is Kuselan, a remake of the Malayalam hit Kadha Parayumbol which will hit theatres by the end of July. Kadha Parayumbol is a sweet, simple tale of friendship between a barber and a superstar. Sreenivasan, who also acted as barber Balan, wrote a screenplay that did not slip even for a moment to melodrama. While Rajnikanth appears as a cameo in Kuselan, the film is branded his, no matter if he appears only for five minutes. The movie has a huge star cast which includes Vadivelu, Prabhu, Vijayakumar, Sneha among others. Interestingly both the audio rights and the movie's distribution rights have been sold at an astronomical prices adding on to the hype surrounding the film.

Kuselan produced by K Balachander's Kavithalaya and Seven Arts, turned out to be a quickie. Rajnikanth plays the role of a superstar played by Mammootty in the original while Pasupathy plays Sreenivasan's role of the barber. Meena who played barber Balan's wife in the original repeats her act in the Tamil as well as Telugu version too. Except for Rajnikanth, Meena and Nayanthara, all the artistes are different for Tamil and Telugu version. Nayanthara who shot to fame when she was signed to act as Rajnikanth's heroine in Chandramukhi, the Tamil remake of Manichitrathazhu, once again plays the superstar's heroine in Kuselan. Mohanlal also did not have a heroine in Manichitrathazhu. The other major highlight of the film is G V Prakash's musical score. He has come up with five songs which are foot-tapping and pacy. A song celebrating the 75th year of Tamil cinema penned by Valee would make it big, opines Vasu.

When it takes a year or two for a Shankar to finish a Rajni film, P Vasu finished the shooting of Kuselan in record 82 days. "It is a record of sorts. I was simultaneously shooting both the Tamil and Telugu versions. We had planned the shooting in such a way that each scene from both the languages were shot back to back. The scenes and the sets were the same, only the artists were different," a proud P Vasu told the press. According to the director, 80-85 per cent of the film was shot inside the Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad as shooting a film starring Rajnikanth in real locations is extremely difficult.

There are five songs in the film of which three are picturised on the superstar. G V Prakash, nephew of A R Rahman is the music composer.
"For a 22-year old, he is amazing," P Vasu complimented the young composer. One of the songs written by Valee will be in praise of the Tamil film industry that is celebrating 75 years of its existence. "The song mentions the contributions by legends like MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, NTR, Rajkumar, etc. The song also will have almost all the stars of Tamil cinema in it," P Vasu said. P Vasu said that except for a five-day break, they were shooting non-stop for four months to finish the film.

"I finished the portions that needed computer graphics by May and gave those parts to the studio. We planned the shooting that way because you need more time to do CG. The re-recording will start on Monday and we plan to release the film by the end of July."
